Perceptions

“God chose gifts for people to receive his broadcast. The means may be through other beings, manuscripts, art, the Bible, visions, auditory stimuli, prayers, dreams, and even indescribable sensations. ‘Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world’ (Hebrews 1:1–2). His words are to be heard.”

Perceptions are a source of material ideas and a way of bridging new relationships. They give rise to opportunities for discussions that yield change and growth. They can reveal the truth hidden in the recesses of the mind or the truth exuding from an individual. However, perceptions can spawn other things, such as manifestations of the mind that endow, what some call, false beliefs. But care can deploy a most useful thing, the wisdom to separate fact from fiction. Any analysis is likely to create a misunderstanding when people try to interpret the underlying meaning behind an unusual dream or experience. However, a person can master their understanding in the purest way when they allow their inner being to bring to the cognizant surface any information relayed from the spirit of God without interruption from the clinical, analytical mind. The “inner being” is discussed in Ephesians 3:16.

Articulation from the inner being to the cognizant state is different from person to person. It may come through as a sound, a sensation in the gut, a tactile feeling, stimulation of the taste or olfactory organs, a vision, an emotional feeling, finger tapping or unusual body convulsions, automatic typing, or a voice. The origin of the articulation may be the person’s inner self, a spirit, residual spiritual energy from the past, or the presence of God through the Holy Spirit. Communication that arises from residual spiritual energy is energy that originated from another person and was overlaid on a physical object, or spiritual energy that remains unstable and unattached. Energy in an unattached form becomes part of a global bank, much like data in the cloud network. Whenever communication or energy transfers to a person, their senses are stimulated and the sensations seem real, not that they don’t exist, but real in the sense of physical. The person feels, smells, hears, tastes, or sees a likeness of the sensory experience in their brain; the brain mimics the experience.

The cognizant state can be a hindrance. When a person overreaches into the brain, they can suffer from analytical paralysis. This is because nature and logic don’t always go together. Just ask yourself, “How was God created? ” No answer will be found despite the mental turmoil you might go through. The same holds true when seeking clarity from sensations or experiences coming from within the soul. Just let them be and allow them to teach you.

People who believe that it is okay to discuss things inside their head without questioning the source are very much in for a rude awaking in the same way a person who uses a OUIJA board. Communication with spirits is quite real. There are liars, there are deceivers who answer questions in ways that may sound perfect but are slightly askew. Their subtlety makes them exceptionally dangerous.

So observe rules or there will be negative consequences. Regardless of the situation it is vital to know, the Lord has given all people a way of determining if underworld characters are present through this verse:

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist. (1 John 4:1-3)

The arts can draw people near to their soul. With the arts, a person can purposefully manipulate their mind to stop impeding the flow of information by placing themself in situations that naturally avoid continual overlay of the mind. Other situations that may work are: a walk along a babbling brook, meditation, eating a piece of pie, feeling “one” with an object, punching keys on a typewriter, just hanging out with friendly animals, and prayer. These situations, or diversions, are when the flow of information begins between the inner and outer self.

When a person is in a wakeful state and concentrating on gathering input without merely thinking about it or intellectualizing on it, as when a person sits and enjoys a ballet or a rendering of an art piece, they are allowing the outer mind to be shelved.

Hearing imaginary things versus hearing things from the inner self, spirits, or the divine being are very different. So how can a person know when words they hear are truthful? When a person looks at a rock closely, they will see different organic materials compressed together. The same holds true with hearing voices. Sounds originating from a place in harmony with the world above may evolve into soothing music or calm noises. These are normal and do not alter man negatively. However, anything that agitates, whether a sound or a voice, is problematic. When voices emerge, whether by accident or provoked through prayer or requests, there can be simultaneous voices. They are very rarely just a person talking to themself. Discernment is critical.

Divine grace has always allowed us to succumb to the words of man, not because he wants us to fall short, but because it is a lesson in listening.

Here is a short clip by Professor Tanya Luhrmann, Anthropology Professor, Stanford University. She invested ten years in how Christians teach themselves to hear the voice of God.

When you truly wish to hear the voice of God, “[l]isten for his words, and you will be pointed in the right direction. Ignore him, and you surely will be walking on a path lined with serpents”

Freewriting is widely accepted as a technique for allowing creative juices to rise from within. It ventures into new areas and is not limited by inhibitions or self-imposed barriers. Freewriting is a stream of consciousness and can also be a stream of subconsciousness. When freewriting originates from the subconsciousness, it is a powerful conduit that allows the inner self or spirit to communicate with the cognizant self, but without the interruption from the cognizant self. Freewriting allows writers to create writings with deep and soulful content. The work can be fiction or non-fiction; it can be artistic, philosophical, soul-searching, predictive, spiritual, or any other type of writing. Often sentences are longer and inconsistent in style and the theme may take on many tangents or soliloquies. Famous writers who used this technique include Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, and Allen Ginsberg.

Automatic writing is similar to free flowing writing except the intent is for acquiring answers to questions or concerns relating to spiritual growth, dreams, coincidences, mastering the unseen world around us, or when considering lifestyle or personal changes. Also, it is one way to modulate the “voice” when it is confusing or seems to talk random gibberish. It delivers information from the subconsciousness and may be a way to open the door of communication with spirit guides. Often automatic writing precedes the busy part of the day or occurs right after waking up. Pen and paper, typewriter, or a computer keyboard are common tools used during automatic writing. Writing comes automatically when the writer doesn’t let the mind speak. The person just sits and lets the fingertips freely start tapping or writing. In this mode, memory and thinking is displaced and a flow of phantom like sensations leads the fingers. Each letter is typed without concern as to what word it is forming. Each word is formed without worrying about the sentence it is making or the meaning. With automatic writing, no attempt should be made to understand or analyze the writing during the process. Once the writing is complete, editing can take place. Often, multiple styles of writing may appear. Chances are that sentences will be out of order or not relevant to the writing, words will be out of context or scrambled, and there will be extraneous pieces that don’t pertain to the writing or are incomplete thoughts. That is normal. With practice, a person can figure out what may have been spoken through the writing and eventually limit the stream of dialog, so that information is more relevant to their needs. But by no means, should statements written during automatic writing displace common practices of safe living, or violate the terms and conditions of life’s obligations as spoken about in the Bible. Automatic writing is discouraged by many Christians as it is likely to introduce the writer to elements from the dark side.

The use of the typing to communicate is old school yet provides a simple, clean way of managing the information flow from within.

Spiritual Meditation is only a state of mind and tranquility is an environment one makes in their mind. But what will come of spiritual meditation depends upon how well the person lets go and listens within. The hand of God is always on the back of a person in such a state. But that person needs to understand that interference from their own mind will not keep them on track. Instead, false realities and hopeless states will make their way forward. Furthermore, a place without hope is not the abode where the voice within resides and peaceful ways will be allusive. What proceeds mediation can determine the outcome. No matter the technique, it is important to remind yourself to listen, to accept, to be still, and to rejoice when you are done. Believe in this simple ceremony of living by saying thank you to the Lord of all for giving you this opportunity to be one with him. Trust in him and listen with openness. Be cognizant that crossing over into other planes is less important than meeting yourself in a way that is developmental, peaceful, and harmonious with the wishes of the Lord.

Spiritual meditation is powerful only when a person realizes that it is not a way of life for practicing showmanship; and they become aware of their innermost secrets without disguising them when they learn of their truth.

Smell brings out memories from the past, it triggers imagination and emotion, it warns of danger, and produces responses inward that mirror the feelings from the past. It is a powerful sense. A particulate lands on a receptor in the nasal cavity and generates an impulse that goes to the brain via the olfactory nerve. When a person experiences new sensations, they usually like to know the cause of the experience. The same holds true for smells. When a person encounters a smell with no obvious origin point, they may take one of two paths: recognize the origin is from beyond or deny it.

Smelling salts startle a person awake. The same holds true when messages are delivered from outside the human space. The smells might be cigarettes, food, flowers, or other known or unknown scents. They arrive in packets but do not actually stimulate sensations via the olfactory apparatus. These smells are usually related to spiritual growth or some type of awareness needed for development and may originate from a spirit or an energy source. This is known as clairolfaction. Some people can use this ability to sense health problems in animals and people, eminent death, or to anticipate natural events.

When a flower emits a sense, it attracts bees. Just like honey bees, the ghosts from the past emit scents which break through the barrier of the nose.

Touch is primal and is a natural way of life. It is an avenue for passing on honest information to another person. It allows sympathy, anger, fear, happiness, love, and gratitude to pass through. Touch creates mutual bonds, and reduces stress while providing improved health. At the fingertips is a truly remarkable machine, a device allowing contact to convey emotions and fellowship. Touch and emotion are deeply interconnected.

A person-to-person contact allows a pulse to be felt. There is a real transfer of energy when people touch or are near another person. Touch not only produces vibrations, but it sends a pulse to the world beyond. As traditional physics points out, energy is not lost, it just is transformed. The same holds true with the information sent along to the other dimension. Energy beyond is preserved and can return at another time. This transfer of energy provides a mechanism for passing information from one time domain to the next. Also, spirits like humans have the ability to excite neurons in a person that emulate touch.

In times of great need, people may sense an angel or feel the touch of someone not present.

Seeing is the ability to perceive the surroundings. The optical eyes are a bridge between the surroundings and the brain and use light in the visible spectrum that reflects off the item or creature. The clarity at which a person sees is determined by physical and environmental factors.

A visual encounter of the life beyond is commonly thought of as a hallucination. However, there are times people see thing through an eye that clearly gives insight. The world beyond creates a gateway to the world within through a hidden channel. Many Eastern cultures call it a “third eye.” In Hinduism and Buddhism, Taoism and many traditional Chinese religious sects the third eye is associated to the gate that leads to the inner sanctum, the realm of  higher consciousness. Visions come as flashes, much like a short video or static film. They may include pictures of people, animals, historical scenes, paintings and art, psychedelic imagery, numbers, symbols, color patterns, identifiable and unidentifiable things or creatures.

Seeing is not always believing, for the sight of some is limited to their mind. The Kingdom of God supposes you are watching with fully open eyes.

Angels are a special kind of spirit being who help a person to perceive God’s truth. They are his messengers and execute his judgments. They do not make decisions that are independent of God. Some are here to help guide us, heal us, comfort us, protect us, lead us in prayer, and encourage us. They are God’s creation and did not evolve from humans. No angel can give a person salvation; A personal relationship with God is the only way to salvation. The Gospel affirms this.

Some people pray to angels. No one needs to pray to angels or to worship them. Angels are in close vicinity to God, so it is okay to assume they hear a person’s prayer when they pray to God. However, it is acceptable to serve angels by speaking to them. It may be a thank you, a greeting, a call for help, or a discussion. This is very different from prayer. Prayer is solid; it comes from the heart, deep in it. The only way truth can come to the surface and be told is through God’s fingers and prayer; Prayers are for God and not for any other being.

There are many types of angels and each one has their own specific task assigned by God. Depending upon the encounter necessary to achieve their goal, angels may be involved with a person for a brief moment or for a long duration. Angels cannot force us to follow a particular path or to do certain things. They can only suggest things; They always give us free choice. It is the dark side who says things that eliminates choices.

The guardian angel is a type of angel that always has a person’s back. This is true for every person originating from the Lord’s hands, no matter how extreme they are regarding behavior or beliefs. They accompany people from birth through physical death. People must have the guardian in order to communicate with other beings beyond. In the course of physical life, the guardian angel is a dependable, special friend who will never leave a person’s side.

Commonly, people assume all angels have big, beautiful wings; this isn’t always the case. Many times angels appear incognito, and it is possible for people to meet an angel without even realizing it initially. People may encounter sightings during critical moments in life or simply as a passerby when nothing seemingly is out of the ordinary.

Angels are one of many ways to perceive the Lord’s messages. It is up to each individual to become familiar with the ways he connects through angels, to establish a doubt-free acceptance of the true helper’s of God, and not to allow misconceptions to hinder the relationship in any way.

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.‘”
